Carsten Weers was born in Rhauderfehn, Germany, in 1971. From 1994 to 2000, he studied Business Administration at the University of Mannheim/Germany and the Oregon State University in Corvallis/USA.
He received his degree at the University of Mannheim in April 2000 and entered BASF SE then in an international marketing trainee program. After working five years in the marketing of the European business unit for lacquer raw materials and architectural coatings, he has been appointed to become the head of supply chain management of dispersions for adhesives & construction in Europe in October 2005.
Thereafter, he has been delegated by BASF SE to Waterloo/Belgium in March 2009 in order to coordinate the global supply chain management in the global strategic marketing of the polyurethanes division.
Since January 2014, Carsten Weers is responsible for the global supply chain management of the monomers division in BASF SE. He is located in Ludwigshafen, Germany.
